Follow us underground at CERN to hear from the world’s top physicists and witness the incredible Large Hadron Collider (LHC) – the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator. Housed underground near Geneva, Switzerland, the LHC smashes protons together near the speed of light in a quest to understand how we call got here.

This work at CERN, which also gave us the World Wide Web decades ago, led to the discovery of the Higgs Boson in 2012, a particle that proves the existence of a universe-wide invisible energy field that slows down particles and gives them weight.
